PM Kisan Yojana Good News! Annual Payment May Rise from ₹6,000 to ₹9,000

PM Kisan Yojana Good News: There is a big news on Pradhanmantri Kisan Yojana. According to news reports, the Central Government has started the long and detailed process of preparing the new Union Budget for 2026–27. This budgeting exercise is carried out in several stages and usually takes many months to complete. The Ministry of Finance (MoF) is leading this process, and according to the reports, all the inputs are being taken from:

  • NITI Aayog
  • Different Central Ministries
  • All State Governments
  • Experts and stakeholders from various sectors

This time, the government is expected to make some major announcements for farmers, and one of the strongest possibilities is an increase in the PM Kisan Yojana installment amount.

How the Indian Budget Process Works

According to the report, the preparation of the Union Budget usually begins in August or September, which is nearly six months before it is presented in Parliament on 1 February by the Finance Minister. This extended timeline allows the government to (i) conduct ground-level surveys, (ii) hold consultations with ministries and state governments, (iii) review economic conditions, and (iv) set clear financial priorities for the coming year.

Reports say, PM Kisan Amount May Increase!

Under Article 112 of the Indian Constitution, the Union Budget is the government’s annual financial statement. It defines:

  • where the government will earn revenue from,
  • how much it will cost, and
  • What major priorities and welfare plans for the year will be

Last year, there was a discussion that the government might increase the PM Kisan Yojana installment, but no official announcement was made.
Now, once again, discussions have started regarding a possible increase in PM Kisan benefits.

What Indian media reports are saying

According to several media reports, the government may increase the yearly PM Kisan amount from ₹6,000 to ₹9,000. Farmers currently receive ₹2,000 per installment, three times a year. With the new increase, they may receive ₹3,000 per installment instead.

One important point is that since the scheme started, the amount has never been increased. Because of rising costs of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and farming activities, experts believe an increase is long overdue. So, farmers are expecting that the Modi government might give a major gift to them in the upcoming February Budget.

Possibility of ₹12,000 Per Year?

Some other media reports claim that the government may not stop at ₹9,000. Instead, there is speculation that the PM Kisan amount may be raised to ₹12,000 per year.

If this happens:

  • Total annual amount = ₹12,000
  • Number of installments = 3
  • Amount per installment = ₹4,000

This would be a massive boost for over 11 crore farmers. Increasing the amount to ₹12,000 would act like a financial booster dose, especially for small and marginal farmers who depend heavily on PM Kisan for seasonal farming expenses.
