SIR Deadline Extended: Forms Now Accepted Till 11 December, Draft Voter List on 16 December

SIR Deadline Extended: Deadline for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in country has been extended. According to latest update from the Election Commission, the last date to submit enumeration forms has been increased from 4 December to 11 December 2025. This extension is a big relief for states like West Bengal and Kerala, where the SIR work had not been completed on time.

Extended Deadline in West Bengal and Kerala

  • In West Bengal, Enumeration Forms can now be submitted till 11 December.
  • Earlier, last date was 4 December.
  • The draft voter list will now be released on 16 December instead of 9 December.
  • Similarly, in Kerala, the submission deadline has also been extended to 11 December.
  • Kerala will also publish the draft voter list on 16 December.
  • After these changes, the final voter list will be released on 14 February 2026.

What the Election Commission Said

In new schedule, Election Commission has given instructions to all districts and states

  • The reorganisation and correction of polling stations must be completed by 11 December.
  • Updating the control table and preparing draft rolls will be done between 12 and 15 December.
  • After the draft electoral roll is published on 16 December, voters can submit their claims and objections till 15 January 2026.

This change is a big relief for Booth Level Officers (BLOs), who were facing difficulties in completing the enumeration forms and uploading them digitally on time.

Who Benefits from the Extended Deadline?

  • BLOs (Booth Level Officers) will get more time to correctly fill and submit enumeration forms.
  • States will find it easier to prepare the draft voter list without rushing.
  • Citizens will get enough time to check their details, make corrections, and file objections if needed.
